Mental Health

“What is mental health?”

First off, let’s normalize getting therapy to maintain overall health and wellbeing. Mental health is health! The same way in which we workout and go to primary care physicians to be physically healthy is the same way in which we go to therapy to be mentally and emotionally healthy. How many times have you turned to a friend or family member when you needed to talk? Think about how you felt after you vented. Therapy is the same concept. The only difference is you are talking to a licensed professional who specializes in the field. In psychology, we focus on matters involving the human mind, focusing on thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Knowing a therapist’s specialty is key as therapists specialize in different problem areas. You can find the areas I specialize in by visiting Therapy Services.

The initial appointment is a time for you and your therapist to get to know each other. I help my clients feel comfortable knowing they are in a safe, judgment-free zone. This lets them know they can be themselves in our sessions together. If we begin to develop a good client-therapist relationship, this is a strong indicator that we are a good fit. Are you ready to start your healing journey?

“How do I choose a therapist that’s right for me?”

"Who is therapy
for?"

Therapy is for anyone whether you’re feeling stuck or simply “off”. Talking to a therapist gives you the opportunity to process and reflect on things happening in your life. Therapy is also beneficial for anyone who wants to maintain their health and well-being. Life’s stressors can take a toll on us. Having a safe space to talk and vent eases the tension and provides focus and clarity on the areas of your life that really matter.
